I'm obsessed with wildflowers.
This piece was inspired by California's super bloom, a fleeting yearly event where excess rainfall turns the desert into sweeping carpets of wild poppies, verbena, lilies, primroses, prickly pear, and dozens of other native wildflowers. For a brief window each spring, the chaparral and desert burst with color, blanketing entire hillsides and valleys before fading away just as quickly as they appeared.
