I am delighted to offer eight works that study the relationship of light and shadow. I am deeply drawn to golden hour and all the changing shadows and hues it radiates as the sun deepens its descent along the horizon. I’m obsessed with the deep, dark hues of blues, oranges, yellows,  purples, and pinks that sunset provides. It’s a show to behold every day. A quiet reminder to focus on the present moment of now as it only lasts but a few minutes. 

Each piece of this limited series embodies warmth, like receiving a hug. All pieces embody a glowing focal point that is casting shadows across its path.

Oil with Cold Wax

Cold wax is a mixture of solvent, resin, and beeswax. When mixed with oil paint it creates a buttery soft texture that is such a joy to work with. It enables scrapes, revealing underneath layers, providing visual interest with high ridges in the paint with peaks and valleys, retained brush strokes and palette knife marks. 

Once complete, I varnish each piece with a final coat of wax and gently buff it out once dry to create a soft sheen that makes the colors pop and seals the work to archival quality standards.

Finishing Touches

Each piece in this collection will be float framed in premium hardwood complete with hanging hardware so the art can be enjoyed immediately upon receiving.
