“Northern Lights” – Having grown up in rural TN, I had the luxury of viewing the dark, starry skies, undisturbed by light pollution. While working on this piece, hues of deep blues met with bright olive greens and subtle black tones which was leading me towards a night sky scene. When ink dries, it creates a lovely delicate texture which perfectly presented as stars. The yellows in this piece represent the transition from dusk into night. I was struck by the resemblance of the natural wonder of aurora borealis, hence “Northern Lights” was born.
