Collector FAQ

Original Art

How do I purchase an original painting?

Meredith releases new works to her mailing list a few times a year usually as a series. In all cases, the mailing list is notified before hand so collectors can be ready for secure an original piece at its release date and time. Print drops will also be communicated via her subscriber list.

Giclée Prints

A giclée print is a high-quality reproduction of an original artwork created using specialized inkjet printing technology. This printing process involves using professional-grade printers that employ archival inks to produce incredibly detailed and vibrant prints.

My giclée prints use archival, museum-quality paper which ensures longevity and resistance to fading over time. The precision of the inkjet technology allows for accurate color reproduction and the capturing of intricate details, resulting in prints that closely resemble the original artwork.

What type of paper is used for Giclee Prints?

I’ve meticulously tested various art papers to find the perfect match for my artistic style. I want each print to beautifully represent my original artwork, capturing all the fine details. After careful consideration, I’ve hand-selected two paper types that truly showcase my art at its best.

Learn about your paper options:

Smooth Matte

Thickness: 17-21.5 mil | Paper Weight: 285-290 gsm | Finish: Velvet, Matte

This paper offers a low-level textured surface resembling the papers used on the etching presses seen in classical intaglio printmaking. The special matte coating supports detail, rich blacks, and exceptional color reproduction, all on an acid free base paper made from a cotton wood pulp blend. Enjoy the rich detail and wide color gamut this paper offers.

Watercolor Bright White

Thickness: 19.5 mil | Paper Weight: 300-340 gsm | Finish: Watercolor style surface

Watercolor Bright White – A cold press watercolor paper that is 100% cotton rag. This premium watercolor paper has a substantial feel and weight and delivers a high-end visual impact with a wide color gamut and deep blacks.

Does Meredith Meyer take commissions?

Currently, Meredith takes commissions given that your requirements meet her artistic style and her availability. Please reach out to Meredith and let her know your vision and scope of work. If your vision matches well with her style, let’s talk!

The best way to secure an original is to purchase from her series or one off piece releases to her mailing list.

Do you ship Worldwide?

At this time Meredith offers fine art prints and originals available to the United States on her website. If you are an international collector, please reach out by email for accomodations.

Framing

Do you offer framing for Giclee Prints?

No and here’s why: Framing choice is a very personal decision based on the desired aesthetic you desire for your space. For this reason, I am not offering frames with my Giclee prints. All of my prints come with a white border which makes it ideal for framing in a standard frame or allows for easier matting for custom frame jobs.

Original canvas artwork includes painted edges with a standard gallery depth of 1.5″ which allows for it to be beautifully hung without a frame.

Is the artwork sold ready to hang?

Original Canvas: Yes, original canvas paintings are wired and ready to adorn your walls right away.

Giclee Prints: Prints are sold without a frame and will require framing. All of my prints include a white border without frame due to the deeply personal preferences that framing requires for each unique decor.
